It's time to pack SHOEBOXES Wildcats! - Operation Christmas Child

Dear St. John community,

We have Christmas shoeboxes ready to go!  Many thanks to the after school bus students led by our several wonderful EAs for helping to fold & make over 400 boxes.

On Wed., Oct. 20, students from Ms. Japlit's gr. 2/3 and Mrs. MacKintosh's grade 2 class, along with Mrs. Watts, will hand out shoeboxes to students who would like to fill one (as this is optional).

They will be filling the boxes for a boy or girl and age bracket of their choice.  Labels are included in the pamphlet inside the box ... students will need to cut out label, check off, and tape to box lid.  The included pamphlet provides ideas for acceptable, new items to pack.  A $10 shipping/project cost fee per box is encouraged to contribute inside the box.

Shoeboxes are due back to the school by Thursday, November 11.  We will house them in the library, as done in the past, until they are picked up.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD

"Operation Christmas Child is a hands-on project that brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations around the world through gift-filled shoeboxes packed by Canadians. It is one way to remind children suffering as a result of war, poverty, famine, disease, and disaster that they are loved and not forgotten ."
