Public Health RETURN TO SCHOOL Protocol for Students/Staff with COVID-19 Symptoms

Dear Wildcats

We wanted to clarify the protocol for when students/staff are either sent home with symptoms.  The document attached from Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health really helps explain it succinctly.

If a child/staff member is sent home with symptoms, they can

#1 Get a test…if “negative” test (2 conditions must be met to return),

#2 If decision is to NOT get tested, child/staff member must quarantine for 14 days from onset of symptoms,

#3 If received a POSITIVE test (there are 3 conditions that must be met) before returning.

*If we know of an existing condition that is not an ESCALATION in baseline or an ABNORMAL RISE, then we do not send the child/staff home. For example, a child who suffers from allergies.  If in doubt, staff will consult with administration  If we are in doubt, administration will call home to speak with parents.
